Even strong relationships get wounded — by betrayal, by stress, by the slow accumulation of missed moments, or simply by the demands of a high-pressure life. Dr. Miller helps couples step out of the negative cycles that keep them stuck and rebuild the secure, lasting connection underneath. The work is warm, structured, and grounded in the most researched model of couples therapy available.

The same fight, over and over — pursue and withdraw, criticize and defend. EFT helps couples see the cycle as the enemy, not each other, and step out of it together.
When stress, parenting, shift work, or simply time have created distance and roommates-instead-of-partners, therapy rebuilds emotional and physical intimacy.
First responder, military, and high-pressure professional couples face unique strain — vicarious trauma, hypervigilance, and emotional numbing carried home from the job. Specialized support helps the relationship survive and thrive.
When every conversation becomes a conflict or silence, therapy restores the ability to hear and be heard — using research-backed tools for communication, conflict, and friendship.
Considering separation, or simply unsure whether to stay. Dr. Miller offers a clear-eyed, compassionate space to discern the path forward — together or apart.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is the most empirically validated model of couples therapy in the world. Rather than teaching communication tricks, EFT helps partners identify the negative cycle that traps them, access the deeper emotions beneath the conflict, and create new, secure patterns of connection. Dr. Miller completed full externship and core skills training (96+ hours) through the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
Identify the repeating pattern — not 'who's right' — that keeps you both stuck and disconnected.
Move beneath anger and withdrawal to the vulnerability, fear, and longing that drive the cycle.
Create secure, accessible, responsive interactions that become the new foundation of the relationship.
Rooted in attachment science — the understanding that we are wired for connection and that secure bonds are healable at any stage of life.
Research-backed tools for communication, conflict management, friendship, and shared meaning developed from decades of couples research.
When individual trauma — past or occupational — is driving the relationship distress, EMDR and AEDP-informed work addresses it directly.
A brief, no-cost phone call to share what's bringing you in and make sure Dr. Miller is the right fit for your relationship.
Dr. Miller meets with you together and individually to understand your story, your cycle, and your goals — at a pace that feels safe.
Structured EFT sessions focused on stepping out of your negative cycle and building new, secure patterns of connection — typically weekly or biweekly.
As secure attachment grows, sessions space out. Many couples complete EFT in 8–20 sessions and leave with tools that last.
